Nobody likes stepping out of a hot shower into a freezing bathroom. But there’s a bigger problem with a lot of infrared heaters: they can be blinding. The Trick to Soft Light
The goal is simple: keep the heat, lose the glare. We handle this by using special coatings on the quartz or filtered envelopes. Think of it like a pair of sunglasses for the heater. These filters block out those aggressive, high-energy visible light waves but let the cozy infrared heat slide right through. We also tweak the output to get rid of that sharp “blue light” peak. The result? You get the heat hitting your skin instantly, but the light stays soft and gentle.
Getting the Setup Right
Where you put the heater matters. A lot. If you mount it too low, it’s too intense—you’ll feel like you’re standing too close to a campfire. Too high, and you’re just wasting electricity heating up your ceiling. We use reflectors to shape the beam, making sure the warmth spreads evenly across the floor where you actually need it. Then there’s the humidity. Bathrooms are basically steam rooms, and steam hates electronics. To keep things from shorting out or rusting, we use sealed housings and terminals that can handle the moisture without breaking a sweat. One thing to keep in mind: because those filters block some of the light, the total heat output is a bit lower than those clear, unfiltered tubes. It’s a small trade-off. To make up for it, we might bump up the wattage or space the lamps differently. It’s a fair deal. You get a bathroom that’s warm and cozy without feeling like you’re staring into a spotlight.
