We use high-purity quartz because it can handle the shock of being turned on and off rapidly without cracking. Depending on what you’re heating, you can go with clear tubes or coated ones. The coated versions change how the heat hits the food, helping it penetrate deeper into the surface. As for the plugs, we stick with R7s or SK15 connectors. They’re standard, so they just slide right into your existing sockets. No rewiring, no headache.
Real-world advice
These lamps are beasts—perfect for searing, warming, or drying. Since we custom-build the length and power, they’ll fit your machine’s footprint perfectly. But a word of caution: high-output shortwave lamps gethot. Really hot. If you’re stuffing these into a tight space, please check your ventilation. If the air isn’t moving, the heat builds up and can trip your controllers or even melt nearby wiring. We’ll provide the hardware, but you’ve got to make sure the air is flowing.
