Getting Your Food Drying Right Without Overpaying for IR Lamps
When you’re exporting IR lamps for food drying, you’re usually juggling two things: making sure the heat is consistent and keeping the costs from spiraling. We’ve spent a lot of time figuring out how to match the output of the big-name brands without all the fancy corporate markup. The trick is in the voltage. Consistent drying comes down to wavelength and power density. We build our lamps to fit the exact wattage and voltage your machines already use. If we go with a higher voltage setup, the current draw drops. That means you can use thinner wiring without worrying about everything melting down. It just makes the whole electrical setup a lot leaner. About the materials… We use high-purity quartz glass. Why? Because these things go through rapid heating and cooling, and cheap glass just cracks. We also use a halogen gas fill to keep the filament from wearing out too fast. And don’t worry about the fit. We stick to standard R7s or Sk15 connectors. They just slide right in. You won’t have to spend a weekend re-tooling your sockets just to switch to our lamps. A quick heads-up on the trade-offs. High-density lamps dry food fast. But they’re tough on your reflectors. Here’s the thing: if your reflectors are pitted or oxidized, you’re throwing away maybe 30% of your heat. Our lamps put out the same intensity as the expensive brands, but you’ve got to keep your housing clean to actually see those energy savings. How we keep the price down. We don’t cut corners on materials. That’s a recipe for disaster. Instead, we just fixed the way we make them. By getting the filament winding exactly right, we get rid of those “hot spots” that usually kill a lamp early. You get a bulb that lasts just as long as the benchmark brands, but you aren’t paying a premium just for a logo on the box.
